Los Angeles Insight (finally a friday meme I can get with):
1. How long have you lived in Los Angeles?
My family moved to LA in early spring 1986. Outside of a short stint in Vegas and then going away to DC for college, I've lived in the 818 since then.
2. Were you born here?
Nope.
3. How long did you plan on staying here originally?
Once I got here, I haven't really thought about the possibility of living anywhere else. Maybe the bay area but I kind of dig paying 11 dollars for an alcoholic beverage and sitting in traffic in the middle of a Saturday.
4. How long do you plan on staying here now?
Unless I can find somewhere else to live my pseudo-afro-hipster lifestyle, see every music show I want, have celebrities in the periphery of my every day life and not really care (whilst totally caring), have fabulous digital cable and wear shorts on Christmas day, I don't see a big move in my future.
5. What keeps you here?
See above. Also, Ameoba Music, my family, great movie theatres, and almost everyone in the world that I care about being here. The Lakers. The Dodgers? No, THE AVENGERS!. Plus...11 dollar drinks. Have I mentioned those yet?
6. What makes you want to leave?
The 405. The extreme lack of rain in the spring. Some of those really hot, arid summer days.
7. What is your biggest suprise about living here?
That LA is so incredibly diverse but still pretty segregated.
8. What is your biggest disappointment about living here?
The Lakers '04 summer moves.
